We are attending FreSh! meeting this evening. FreSh! is a very dynamic and vibrant community. Driven by THE key persons in Indonesian online world.
Today’s topic is Teknopreneur (technology entrepreneurship), which is very relevant to MobileMonday communities.
I can share a bit about what is being discussed. But first and foremost, I want to highlight is once again the potential of creative industry innovations and entrepreneurship in our beloved nation (do I need to remind you about the FireAnts?)! We met passionate colleagues there who really want to make a difference in this industry. And they DID something already, great things as well.
Bullit Sesariza (A Box), for example is starting a game company which innovates the way they reach the mass market — by creating engaging+socializing+educating games, and the way they model their business — by partnership, royalty & rental model.
Then Yoris Sebastian (OMG Consulting) founded dr.m (dokter m) – a digital music label. Changing the way Indonesians purchase their music (and on the other hand how the artists market the music and grow their fanbase).
Yoris also motivates the audience to embrace their creative side and to collaborate because these two are among the ingredients of successful innovation!
Ah, and a bit of GREAT statistics about Indonesian bloggers from the recent wordcampindonesia.com:
So guys, listen to the little voice in your heart. Got ideas? Let’s collaborate.

Congratulations to PT BioLocate Indonesia with the application FIREANTS which passed the first round of MobileMonday Global Peer Awards. A total of 163 entries submitted from around the world which has now been shortlisted to 43 nominees, including the Indonesia’s bioLocate, and other heavy weight contenders such as aka-aki (Berlin), fring (TelAviv), Getjar (Lithuania), Mocospace (Boston), Nimbuzz (Amsterdam), Palringo (London), SoonR (Silicon Valley), and WorldMate (Atlanta). The jury are now sitting in to select the top 20 finalist which will be invited to do a live presentation in Barcelona on February 16, 2008 in front of international audience.
The competition for top 20 are quite tough, however I’m quite confident bioLocate can steal jury’s attention as the idea is quite unique as compare to the others. Who need more IM client? We want something new, innovative and relevant to our mobile life. And I put my vote behind bioLocate! BTW the top 20 list will be announced on January 26, 2009 (Chinese New Year!)
To Pak Dien, Pak Hindra & bioLocate team. Congratulations from MobileMonday Indonesia Team!
I am sure to see you in Barcelona!
