MobileMonday, the largest networking forum and global communities for professionals in mobile industry, launched the first chapter in Indonesia on Tuesday, December 2007. The MobileMonday Indonesia launch event is held at J.W. Marriott Hotel and was a huge success with over 450 audience attending the seminar events and exhibitions coming from various segments of Indonesian mobile, telecommunication and related industries. Distinguish audiences including senior officials from government, major telecommunication operators, internet service providers, industry associations, chamber of commerce and press. The Indonesia launch is attended by representative from MobileMonday Malaysia, India, Shanghai, Japan and MobileMonday Global. MobileMonday Indonesia launch event is sponsored by Nokia Siemens Networks, Nokia Mobile Phones and supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Yahoo!, MetroTV and Synovate.
First part of the launch event is held on morning December 4, 2007 with VIP and Media Sessions on 10am, with opening remark from Jari Tammisto, CEO of MobileMonday Global, followed by words from Dieter Klein, President Director of PT Nokia Siemens Networks, Indonesia. A quick presentation on MobileMonday is presented by Andy Zain on behalf of the MobileMonday Indonesia team giving clearer understanding about MobileMonday concept and missions in Indonesia to audience. The morning session was closed by presentation from Poempida Hidayatulloh of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and discussion panel moderated by Fifi Aleyda Yahya (MetroTV) with topic “Accelerating The Telco Industry Potential as Economic Growth Engine”. Very good response from the floor with very good comments and questions from distinguish audiences including Ibu Koesmarihati (BRTI), Pak Giri Suseno (Mastel), Pak Teguh Prasetya (Indosat), Mr. Yuen Kuan Moon (Telkomsel) and Pak Haryawirasma (IMOCA) which bring dynamics to the discussion.
Second part of the event started after lunch time, kicked off by Turochas Fuad, Head of Mobile, Yahoo! Asia and continued by streaks of international speakers including a very passionate Madanmohan Rao (Wireless World Asia magazine), Bruno Bensaid (China Expansion Fund) with his reality check on China, and Christopher Billich (Infinita) with eye opening stories from Japan. All presenters giving audience insight using actual case studies & real statistics from the Asia Pacific region, which are very relevant to Indonesia. Tomi Ahonen as usual , shines on his presentation about “Mobile Phone as The 7th Mass Media” which we all look forward to get his 8th book on 2008. The afternoon session was concluded with discussion panel moderated by Teddy Sukardi (Chairman, Indonesia Information Technology Federation).
Dinner & networking session is co-hosted with IMOCA, the Indonesiam Mobile and Online Content Association, started at 6:30pm with live music entertainment and more presentations from Forum Nokia on Widgets, Lars Cosh-Ishii (Mobikyo, Tokyo) and Matthew Synder (Synovate).
